A WISH FOR PEACE

Yesterday I received an email from a friend I hadn't heard from in a long time. I am posting this painting for her.

Alexa is in the military and we became friends when my studio was street level. She loved walking thru my studio/gallery and many of the others around town. She had bought a couple of my pieces for herself and friends. That meant the world to me.

Alexa got her next order to go to the Panhandle in Florida. She missed this area terribly, but in this last email it sounded like she had adjusted. She even started doing pottery. You go girl!

My friend is ready for her next assignment and this one will take her to the tropics. Before that begins she must complete training in the Gulf. Not ours, the one over there, close that mess that is playing out.

Stay safe and stay in touch my dear friend.  Thank You for stepping up to the challenge that is all of ours.

Love and Light to you!

IMT prompt- ENVELOPE

Back in the day I had a clutch purse similar to this one. It was electric blue with slightly darker small blue polka dots. It had a red button closure. It truly was envelope thin, a credit card, stick of gum and a house key. Forget about hair brushes, lip sticks or a key chain with double locks and car keys.

The things I did to be a fashionable girl. You should have seen the hair and shoes that went with this envelope clutch.

I admit it, I was a fashion victim. Well, we all have our flaws.

IMT prompt: Peace Symbol-50 years old

Wow 50 years old for the Peace Sign! And my birthday wish to you is many more.

When I was looking for images to inspire me, I was taken back to that"Summer of Love". I wasn't old enough to appreciate it as some of my friends were in those days, but I do remember...

Not quite old enough to hitch a ride to Woodstock and not quite young enough to not know what was going on around me in the world.

Music from the Beatles (my personal favorites), Rolling Stones, The Doors, Hendrix, Joplin and Dylan. It all changed back in those days.

With hindsight I look back.  Some regrets and some thanks for making it through. All-in-all, I wouldn't change much about those days and the years that followed.

An Angel On My side

I did this painting a few months ago for an IF  prompt for "Soar" and I am just now posting it.

Some trials in my life this week have tapped me on the shoulder and whispered in my ear" hey sister, slow down".  I looked at this drawing this afternoon and remembered all of my guardian angels that are there to help me, if only I would ask.

Thank you my angels, spirit guides and people who have passed from this plane for giving the nudge that I so desperately need from time to time.

Watercolor and pen on drawing paper.
